On Easter Day 4 April Jonathan Bielby will be retiring (Eucharist at 11.00, Evensong at 4.00).
There will be a Farewell Eucharist on Saturday 27 March at 11.00 at which Bishop David Hope will preach. Jonathan would like as many as possible former boy and girl choristers, lay clerks, organ scholars and assistant organists to return to Wakefield and take part in the service.
10.00 Rehearsal in Quire (Widor Mass).
There are two more valedictory events in March.
Saturday 13 March the Yorkshire Cathedrals Girls Festival returns to Wakefield (Evensong at 5.00).
Wednesday 3 March at 4.00 the Cathedral Choir will be singing live BBC Choral Evensong.
You are cordially invited to all or some of these events. This will be the end of an era and Jonathan is very much looking forward to seeing you!
